On August 5, Amazon announced via press release that its cloud computing arm, AWS, would now offer two newly unveiled AI inference models from OpenAI—gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b—on the Bedrock and SageMaker platforms. This initiative aims to bring OpenAI's cutting-edge technology to millions of AWS customers and bolster its market reach. Previously, Microsoft held an exclusive arrangement as the sole cloud service provider reselling OpenAI software, which had fueled the growth of its Azure cloud division, outpacing AWS.
