South Korea's ICT Exports Surpass $115 Billion in First Half of Year, Chip Exports Hit $73.3 Billion

Data released by the South Korean government reveals that in the first half of 2025, fueled by the escalating global demand for data center semiconductors, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) product exports surged by 5.8% year-on-year, amassing a total of $115.16 billion and a trade surplus of $44.24 billion. Notably, semiconductor exports witnessed a remarkable 11.4% increase, amounting to $73.31 billion. Furthermore, exports of computers, communication equipment, and mobile phones also experienced growth. Conversely, display panel exports declined by 13.9%, totaling $8.7 billion.

Regionally, exports to Mainland China and Hong Kong fell by 11.5%, amounting to $41.98 billion. Conversely, exports to the United States rose by 14.5%, reaching $14.42 billion. Exports to the European Union experienced a slight decline, whereas exports to Vietnam and Japan increased by 10% and 5.7%, respectively.
