South Korea's leading conglomerate, SK Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build the nation's largest artificial intelligence data center in Ulsan. This state-of-the-art facility will boast an impressive array of 60,000 graphics processing units (GPUs), with an initial power capacity of 100 megawatts, scalable to 103 megawatts in future phases. The groundbreaking ceremony for this ambitious project is slated for August, marking the official start of construction this month. Furthermore, SK Telecom has outlined plans to invest a substantial 3.4 trillion Korean won in AI infrastructure by 2028, with this data center project serving as a cornerstone of these efforts.
