The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced sanctions on Thursday against FUNNULL Technology Inc., a Philippines-based company. OFAC accused FUNNULL of facilitating 'pig-butchering' scams that have caused losses exceeding $200 million to American victims. FUNNULL allegedly procured IP addresses from global cloud service providers and resold them to scammers for the purpose of establishing fraudulent platforms. Additionally, the company has been implicated in the majority of virtual currency investment scam websites reported to the FBI. Furthermore, FUNNULL employs algorithms to generate numerous similar domain names, aiding scammers in evading regulatory scrutiny and blockades.
