Google has expanded its sovereign cloud services portfolio within the European Union, introducing additional data protection safeguards to bolster cybersecurity. Concurrently, the company is deepening its collaborations with local partners, such as Thales in France, to cater to the heightened data protection standards of sensitive industries. A similar initiative will soon be rolled out in the German market. According to the President of Google Customer Experience, global tensions have propelled sovereign clouds into the limelight, prompting customers to explore new alternatives. This strategic move aligns with Microsoft's digital pledge to European users made last month.
