TikTok announced on May 6th a landmark investment of 1 billion euros to construct a new data center in Kuola, Finland. This initiative represents a significant advancement in bolstering data security for European users. The project, undertaken by local developer HyperCo Oy, forms a crucial part of TikTok's ambitious "Four-Leaf Clover Project." With a total investment of 12 billion euros, the Four-Leaf Clover Project aims to safeguard the data of 175 million Europeans. The newly established data center will function as an integral part of the "European Safe Zone," dedicated exclusively to storing European user data and ensuring adherence to the strictest security standards and regulatory guidelines.
