2024-12-31

On December 30, the United Kingdom's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced the commencement of an investigation into IBM's acquisition of the software company HashiCorp. The aim of this investigation is to assess whether the acquisition will have a substantial impact on competition within the UK market. The CMA has invited stakeholders to submit their observations by January 16, 2024, with a decision expected in the first phase by February 25, 2024. Earlier this year, in April, IBM announced its intention to acquire HashiCorp for $35 per share in cash, amounting to a total transaction value of $6.4 billion.
