On November 4, Qualcomm announced that SpaceX has chosen its Dragonwing cellular infrastructure platform to power Starlink Mobile's nationwide ground-based 5G network in the United States. The network will leverage Qualcomm's Dragonwing QRU100 and QDU100 platforms and carrier-grade Layer 1 software, paired with high-capacity Massive MIMO radios, baseband technology, and energy-efficient processing to enable large-scale deployment of cellular base stations. The equipment will be rolled out to tens of thousands of macro cell sites across the United States starting in 2027. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
