The China Telecom Research Institute, in collaboration with Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (YOFC) and ZTE Corporation, has successfully completed the world's first 1,000-km hollow-core fiber bidirectional real-time transmission verification. Over a 1007.48-km link, the team achieved extended C+L-band single-wavelength 800Gb/s single-fiber bidirectional transmission with a total capacity of 128Tb/s, setting a new record for real-time transmission distance over hollow-core fiber and marking a milestone breakthrough for China in key core technologies for next-generation optical communications.
