On November 3, the Italian government convened a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office to address the cyberattack on supermarket refrigeration equipment. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, the Director of the National Cybersecurity Agency, and heads of intelligence agencies. Preliminary investigations indicate that most of the affected facilities were running outdated security systems, with issues including control interfaces exposed to the internet and inadequate identity authentication. To date, no cases of frozen food thawing that would endanger public health have been reported.
