On October 12th, reports indicated that the expansion project of China Mobile's Intelligent Computing Center (Hohhot)—the world's largest single intelligent computing center specifically designed for telecom operators—has been successfully completed. This project, undertaken by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, encompasses the B25 and B27 projects of China Mobile's Hohhot Data Center.
Situated in the Horingger New Area, the project boasts a substantial contract value of 2.7 billion yuan. It spans a construction area of approximately 44,500 square meters and possesses a total IT power capacity of 120MW. Aligned with China's national "Compute East, Store West" strategy, this center is poised to achieve a remarkable total computing capacity of 20,100P upon full operation, including 16,700P dedicated to intelligent computing.
A significant 90% of the computing power generated will be allocated to serve the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, ensuring robust digital infrastructure support for this economically vital area. Moreover, the project prioritizes sustainability, with green electricity accounting for up to 88% of its energy consumption.
This milestone project is set to further refine the national computing network scheduling system and significantly bolster China's technological prowess in the global AI industry, marking a significant leap forward in the nation's digital transformation journey.
