Microsoft has adjusted the OneDrive storage plans for Microsoft 365 Family and Premium editions. The previous plan, which offered 1TB per person for up to 6 members (totaling a maximum of 6TB), has been replaced with a shared 2TB storage pool for all members, representing a 66.7% reduction in total storage. Microsoft stated that the new shared model enhances usage flexibility, allowing a single member to utilize the entire 2TB of space, addressing the issue where members could not access unused storage from others under the previous model. New and upgraded subscriptions will apply the new rules starting October 8, 2026. Existing Family and Premium users will switch to the new rules after their first renewal on or after May 2, 2027.
