Reporters have received information from the National Data Administration that on September 17, the China-ASEAN Data Cooperation Professional Committee of the World Data Organization was formally inaugurated in Nanning, Guangxi. The World Data Organization, the inaugural global professional international entity devoted to data advancement and governance, is based in Beijing. The newly launched China-ASEAN Data Cooperation Professional Committee will concentrate its efforts on ASEAN, undertaking activities such as cross-border data exchange, inclusive intelligent computing capabilities, collaborative rule-setting and standardization, ecosystem development for members, and the growth of industrial clusters. Its mission is to narrow the digital divide, harness the potential of data, and foster the flourishing of the digital economy. The National Data Administration has expressed its commitment to actively engage in worldwide data governance, back the World Data Organization in capitalizing on the specialized expertise of its members from diverse global regions and industry sectors, and practically advance international collaboration on data within specific domains.
