On September 17, Microsoft, in partnership with Marvell Technology (commonly known as Marvell) and Utimaco, collectively rolled out the Azure Payment HSM v2 payment security platform. This innovative platform seamlessly combines Marvell's LiquidSecurity hardware security module, Utimaco's Atalla payment module software, and Microsoft's Azure cloud services. Its primary objective is to deliver cloud-native payment security solutions tailored for banks, payment processors, and financial institutions.

Leveraging this platform, financial institutions can enhance the protection of payment transactions and sensitive assets with greater efficacy. They gain the autonomy to independently manage encryption keys and fulfill diverse requirements, including PCI security standards, compliance regulations, and auditing procedures, all without the necessity of self-deploying and managing physical HSM infrastructure. Microsoft, Marvell, and Utimaco have emphasized that this represents the industry's pioneering solution, integrating multi-vendor HSM software and hardware infrastructure into a comprehensive managed service.
