On September 17, German energy company RWE and Oracle signed a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) involving 433 megawatts of electricity, to be supplied by RWE's Panther Creek I, II, and III wind projects in Texas, USA. This agreement is part of Oracle's expanded power investment in Texas. Oracle stated that its related investments, with a total generating capacity exceeding 1.7 gigawatts, will support the Texas power grid and data center operations, helping it achieve 100% carbon-free electricity for its AI data centers by 2035.
