On September 16th, data from the China Electricity Council revealed that since the start of this year, new forms of digital energy loads, primarily driven by internet data services and electric vehicle charging and battery swapping services, have witnessed explosive growth. The electricity consumption of the national internet data service industry has soared past 60 billion kilowatt-hours, reflecting a year-on-year surge of over 40%. The swift advancement of the artificial intelligence sector has directly fueled a notable uptick in electricity demand for data centers. At present, the national average daily Token invocation volume has skyrocketed a thousandfold compared to two years ago, with computing power demand relentlessly on the rise. Pan Yuelong, the Chief Supervisor of the China Electricity Council, forecasts that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the annual average increase in national computing power electricity consumption will surpass 100 billion kilowatt-hours. By 2030, it is projected to reach 800 billion kilowatt-hours, constituting approximately 6% of the total electricity consumption across society.
