The National Data Administration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has announced that China will implement four pivotal strategies to expedite the cultivation of interdisciplinary talents in the digital economy sector, aiming to propel its robust growth. The specific strategies encompass:
The establishment of a National Teaching Steering Committee for the Digital Economy, which will comprise around 70% university representatives and 30% industry experts. This committee will prioritize interdisciplinary studies, the seamless integration of industry and education, as well as the fusion of science and education. It will be tasked with guiding the development of digital economy majors, curriculum design, textbook compilation, and teaching reforms.
The development of core courses, textbooks, and the assembly of core faculty teams, along with the establishment of core practical projects. This will involve incorporating cutting-edge technologies, such as large-scale models and intelligent agents, into classroom training to enhance the learning experience.
The provision of essential resource support to universities, including computing power services and high-quality datasets, to facilitate research and innovation in the digital economy field.
The creation of multiple national-level education platforms, innovation platforms for the integration of industry and data elements, and distinctive practice bases in the digital economy domain, to foster a conducive environment for talent development and industry collaboration.
