On September 13, the "Space Computing Industry Ecosystem Forum," a key event within the 2026 Pujiang Innovation Forum, convened in Shanghai. During this forum, the ambitious "Pearl Constellation Plan" was officially unveiled. This initiative is set on constructing a colossal, gigawatt-scale space-based computing constellation, with a keen focus on conducting in-orbit validations across several cutting-edge domains. These include domestically manufactured computing payloads, optical computing systems, and innovative energy solutions. Following these validations, the plan envisions the launch of the inaugural batch of satellites and the subsequent establishment of a large-scale satellite network. The ultimate objective is to create, by 2030, a globally encompassing, space-ground collaborative, autonomous, and controllable space intelligent computing infrastructure and service network.
