On September 11, during the “Space Computing Power Innovation and Development” thematic forum at the 2026 China Computing Power Conference, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, in collaboration with the Beijing Space Intelligence Computing Research Institute, officially founded the “Space Computing Power Key Technology and Scenario Validation Laboratory.” This laboratory stands as the industry's pioneering institution, dedicated to advancing key technologies in space computing power and facilitating integrated multi-scenario validation.

The laboratory's primary focus will be on four key areas:

  • Firstly, it will engage in collaborative research on cutting-edge technologies, including radiation-resistant onboard AI chips and high-speed inter-satellite communication.
  • Secondly, it will establish ground-based validation test sites to carry out pilot and engineering trials for space computing power.
  • Thirdly, it will drive application validation in typical scenarios, such as space situational awareness and space-based assisted intelligent driving.
  • Fourthly, it will develop relevant standards and specifications, create test toolkits and public technological achievements, and coordinate the construction of a standard evaluation system.
