On September 10, at the 2026 China Unicom Partner Conference, Chairman Dong Xin of China Unicom announced that the company will remain committed to green and sustainable development, intensify its investment efforts, and is projected to leverage investments amounting to hundreds of billions during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Presently, China's intelligent computing capacity has surpassed 2100 EFLOPS, with an anticipated increase of 4 trillion yuan in direct investment over the course of the 15th Five-Year Plan. China Unicom will collaborate with its partners to prioritize strategic investments and ensure reasonable returns. The company will enhance computing power infrastructure in key regions such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It will also optimize super-large-scale intelligent computing centers in strategic locations, including Shanghai Lingang, Hohhot in Inner Mongolia, Zhongwei in Ningxia, and Sanjiangyuan in Qinghai, and construct gigawatt-level parks to supply high-quality domestic computing power for large-scale domestic models. Additionally, China Unicom will fully roll out the 'Agent+Token+AI Cloud' operational system, coordinating the supply of computing power, model invocation, and scenario-based returns.
