Microsoft is developing a new feature for Excel called Copilot Canvas, designed to convert workbook data into interactive dashboards, eliminating the need for users to manually create numerous charts and metrics. This feature supports natural language conversations for content modification and automatically updates the dashboard when underlying data changes. It is still under development and is expected to be launched for Excel on Windows and the web version in September 2026, with global deployment completed by early October.
