After news emerged about the closure of its R&D center in Hangzhou, Finnish telecommunications leader Nokia has faced reports suggesting it will shut down the majority of its operations in mainland China. Industry insiders speculate that the company may gradually and completely exit China’s consumer and enterprise services markets. In response, Nokia officials neither confirmed nor denied these claims directly. Instead, they stated that due to the ongoing decline in its business performance in China, the company is making strategic adjustments to its operational footprint in the region.
