As the need for AI computing capabilities keeps skyrocketing, even hardware that was launched several years ago is facing a scarcity. The most recent leasing contract inked by cloud computing service provider CoreWeave reveals that NVIDIA's A100 "Ampere" architecture AI accelerator card, which hit the market in 2020, has had its customer leases extended all the way until 2029. This indicates that the operational lifespan of this computing power chip will stretch to nearly ten years.
