According to sources familiar with the matter, AI startup Anthropic has signed a 20-year computing power supply agreement worth $9.1 billion with Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms. Under the agreement, Riot will provide 191 megawatts of computing power capacity from its data center in Rockdale, Texas. The agreement includes two options to extend by five years each, and if fully exercised, the total revenue from the agreement could reach up to $16.1 billion. In response to this matter, Riot declined to comment, while Anthropic has not yet responded. Notably, in recent months, Anthropic has also signed computing power agreements with companies such as Volta Infra and SpaceX.
