In the first half of 2026, China’s software sector demonstrated robust growth, with business revenue reaching 7,718.2 billion yuan, marking a 9.5% increase year-on-year. Total profits climbed to 899.9 billion yuan, up 1% from the same period last year. Software business exports soared to USD 33.79 billion, reflecting an 11.4% year-on-year surge. Within this thriving sector, revenue from information technology services stood out at 5,290.7 billion yuan, a 10.4% rise year-on-year, and accounted for 68.5% of the total industry revenue. Focusing on niche areas (sub-sectors), cloud computing and big data services generated 887.7 billion yuan in revenue, up 12.1% year-on-year. Integrated circuit design revenue reached 236.5 billion yuan, a notable 20.1% increase year-on-year. Additionally, revenue from e-commerce platform technology services amounted to 622.1 billion yuan, up 5.5% year-on-year.
