Brett Winton, Chief Futurist at Ark Investment Management, stated that by deploying tens of gigawatts of orbital data center capacity by the end of the 2020s at current leasing rates, SpaceX could potentially generate $300 billion in annual revenue. He mentioned that the Starlink project alone could recoup its investment within six months, as a single fully-loaded satellite launch costs approximately $500 million, while the satellites can generate $1 billion in revenue annually over their 5-year lifespan. Ark has previously predicted that SpaceX's enterprise value could reach $2.5 trillion by 2030. Winton also suggested that Musk might merge SpaceX with publicly traded Tesla after the IPO restrictions are lifted.
