Designer Andreas Storm, while perusing the #WWDC26 hashtag on platform X, stumbled upon the fact that the original image filename of Apple's official 'hashmoji' thumbnail included the text 'Project_Big_Bear_2026_Hashmoji_only.png'. Considering Apple's recent trend of naming its macOS versions after California landmarks, like 'Tahoe' which takes inspiration from Lake Tahoe, 'Big Bear' is presumably a reference to 'Big Bear Lake' in Southern California, thus positioning it as a potential name for macOS 27. Nevertheless, some analysts speculate that this could be a red herring from Apple, and the definitive name will only be verified upon the official release.
