On June 1, Wang Lei, Deputy Secretary of the Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee at the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, presided over a symposium specifically designed for space computing enterprises. The primary objective of this symposium was to solicit insights from these enterprises on transforming Beijing Yizhuang into a premier hub for the space computing industry, as well as to engage in discussions regarding the construction of the Space Computing Innovation Center.

The entrepreneurs at the symposium expressed their belief that space computing, as an emerging domain that seamlessly integrates commercial aerospace with the digital economy, has emerged as a new focal point in the global technological race. They highlighted its substantial strategic significance and immense commercial potential. In recent developments, the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area has taken a significant stride by establishing the Beijing Space Intelligence Computing Research Institute. This move not only marks a crucial phase in the construction of the Space Computing Innovation Center but also serves as a pivotal initiative to propel the growth of the space computing industry.

Leveraging their expertise across various domains, including satellite manufacturing, computing chips, communication payloads, energy materials, software scheduling, and precision devices, the enterprises are poised to collaboratively address technical challenges. These challenges encompass the development of onboard radiation-resistant chips, inter-satellite laser communication, and efficient thermal control and power supply systems. Their collective efforts aim to expedite the verification and networking processes of computing satellites, construct a comprehensive innovation and industrial chain, and foster the establishment of an autonomous, controllable, secure, and trustworthy space computing technology and standard system. Ultimately, these endeavors will contribute significantly to China's aspirations of becoming a leading space and cyber power.
