On May 29, Guangzhou unveiled the framework for its 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, emphasizing the pursuit of pivotal technological advancements in 6G communication technologies and their core components, space-sky-earth integrated communication systems, optical communication technologies, and network infrastructures. The plan outlines the creation of six transformative scenarios: immersive communication experiences, ultra-large-scale connectivity networks, ultra-reliable low-latency communication systems, seamless integration of artificial intelligence with communication technologies, convergence of sensing capabilities with communication networks, and ubiquitous connectivity solutions. Concurrently, the city is set to concentrate on groundbreaking progress in quantum computing, quantum precision measurement, and quantum communication, fostering pilot implementations of quantum technology across diverse sectors such as finance, transportation, healthcare, meteorology, and environmental conservation. This strategic move aims to propel the development of the Greater Bay Area Quantum Technology Industry Innovation Center.
