On May 28, Reuters reported that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stated on Thursday that the company has only agreed to lease the Colossus AI training data center cluster to Anthropic for six months. He mentioned that while future cooperation could potentially extend for several years, no long-term leasing commitment has been made at present. Musk posted on the social platform X that the short-term lease was a requirement proposed by SpaceX, not Anthropic. He added that SpaceX might need to reclaim the computing resources in the future if they are in high demand. Currently, SpaceX is advancing its IPO process.
