To meet domestic demand for AI in Japan, Sakura Internet, a cloud computing service provider for data centers in Japan, plans to significantly increase its capital expenditure in fiscal year 2026, raising it to nearly seven times the original plan. Company President Kunihiro Tanaka stated that they hope to procure new GPUs within the fiscal year from April 2026 to March 2027, with an estimated investment of 20 to 30 billion yen (approximately RMB 850 million to 1.28 billion). Previously, on April 27, Sakura Internet announced an estimated capital expenditure of 4.4 billion yen for fiscal year 2026.
