In March 2026, law enforcement agencies from the United States, Germany, and Canada jointly dismantled four major botnets—Aisuru, KimWolf, JackSkid, and Mossad—which had infected over 3 million IoT devices worldwide, including webcams and smart TVs. Two suspected administrators were arrested, and a large amount of data equipment and cryptocurrencies were seized. These botnets had launched hundreds of thousands of DDoS attacks, targeting websites such as the U.S. Department of Defense, and profited by renting out residential proxies.
