In the first quarter of this year, China witnessed a double-digit year-on-year surge in its export volume of optical fibers, cables, and optical modules. Several companies have already secured export orders stretching all the way to 2028. Notably, the price of special optical fiber products has skyrocketed tenfold within just a year, with market demand vastly outstripping supply. Despite a quadrupling in order volumes, shipment volumes have only doubled due to limitations in production capacity. Consequently, customers are now required to pay deposits to reserve production capacity. Meanwhile, the export scale of optical modules continues to expand, with a notable year-on-year increase of around 30% in the first quarter. Specifically, a company in Wuhan has seen its 1.6T optical modules in high demand overseas. The ongoing construction of global computing power centers and the escalating demand for bandwidth are propelling China's optical communication industry onto the international stage. At present, Chinese companies command a substantial share of the global optical module and fiber markets, with their development in cutting-edge fields accelerating at a rapid pace.
