The National Institute of Data Research recently organized a thematic exchange event in Fuzhou, focusing on theoretical and practical research in data development. During this event, the 'Joint Innovation Consortium for the Integration of Computing-Electricity Synergy Technology and Industry' was officially launched. Yuan Jun, the Deputy Dean of the National Institute of Data Research, highlighted that the collaborative development of computing capacity and electricity encounters the dilemma of an 'impossible trinity.' He pointed out that the rapid surge in demand for computing capacity, juxtaposed with the lengthy construction period of energy infrastructure, often results in inefficient resource utilization. Hence, he emphasized the necessity for a unified, nationwide planning strategy to harmonize computing capacity and power grid planning within a singular spatial framework, thereby facilitating a proactive and dynamic adaptation to the evolving landscape of AI development.
