Microsoft has made an announcement stating that, commencing in July 2026, Exchange Online will completely cease the utilization of older Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols, namely TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1. Moreover, it will mandate an upgrade to TLS 1.2 or higher versions for accessing email services. This action signifies a major stride taken by Microsoft in the process of phasing out obsolete security technologies. Prior to this, Microsoft has progressively discontinued the use of TLS 1.0 and 1.1 across various services, encompassing Azure Storage, the Microsoft 365 suite, and more.
