As artificial intelligence continues to revolutionize the tech sector, Microsoft, a 51-year-old tech giant, has, for the first time, rolled out a voluntary separation buyout scheme for a portion of its U.S. staff. This initiative is designed for senior directors and below, specifically those whose cumulative years of service and age sum up to 70 or above. It is estimated that around 7% of Microsoft's U.S. employees, equating to roughly 8,750 individuals, meet the eligibility criteria. Both eligible employees and their respective managers will be furnished with comprehensive details on May 7. However, it's important to note that employees currently enrolled in sales incentive programs are excluded from applying for this buyout scheme.
