On April 21, China marked a significant milestone with the official activation of its inaugural Pre6G test network in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. This cutting-edge test network seamlessly integrates innovative 6G technologies into the existing 5G framework, boasting enhanced capabilities such as ultra-high bandwidth, extensive coverage over long distances, minimal latency, and seamless AI integration. Remarkably, it delivers performance levels up to 10 times superior to those of 5G. Presently, the network is undergoing rigorous systematic validation across diverse sectors, including low-altitude surveillance, industrial automation, embodied intelligence, and holographic communication. This development signifies a pivotal shift in 6G technology, transitioning from the validation of key technologies to the comprehensive assessment of system capabilities, thereby establishing a solid foundation for the standardization and eventual industrialization of 6G.
