The latest Server industry research from TrendForce indicates that AI will drive demand for both general-purpose and AI servers in 2026. However, suppliers are prioritizing production capacity for higher-margin AI servers, resulting in significant extensions to lead times for various components of general-purpose servers. Specifically, the lead times for PCBs and CPUs have approached one year, while those for power management integrated circuits (PMICs) have extended from 21-26 weeks to 35-40 weeks, and for baseboard management controller (BMC) ICs from 11-16 weeks to 21-26 weeks. Consequently, the annual growth rate of server shipments has been revised downward from nearly 20% to approximately 13%, failing to fully unleash the market demand potential.
