Recently, Microsoft has adjusted the update mechanism for Windows 11 by introducing a 'Update Later' option in the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) process for new devices. This allows users to skip mandatory update installations and enter the desktop environment more quickly. The move aims to enhance user experience by reducing wait times and interruptions. Previously, during the initial setup of a Windows 11 device, the system would forcibly check for and install available updates, requiring users to wait for the updates to complete before accessing the desktop. Now, users can choose to temporarily skip updates, prioritize completing device setup, and later obtain feature updates and security patches through Windows Update.
