Google recently announced that the end-to-end encryption (E2EE) feature for Gmail is now fully available on all Android and iOS devices, open to enterprise users. Users can natively send and receive encrypted emails on mobile without the need for additional tools. Recipients using the Gmail app can view them directly, while users of other email services can access them via a browser. This feature is based on client-side encryption (CSE) technology, ensuring that both the email body and attachments are encrypted locally before being sent to Google's servers, meeting data sovereignty and compliance requirements. Currently, this feature is available to users with an Enterprise Plus license combined with the Assured Controls or Assured Controls Plus add-ons. Administrators need to enable it in the admin console before end users can utilize it.
