According to individuals with insider knowledge of the situation, Nebius—a cloud service provider supported by Nvidia and boasting a market capitalization of $32 billion—is currently in negotiations to acquire the Israeli AI startup AI21 Labs. Should the transaction be finalized, it would enable Amsterdam-headquartered Nebius to diversify into artificial intelligence services, expanding beyond its primary server rental operations. AI21 Labs specializes in the creation of large language models and intelligent agent systems for enterprise use, and was valued at $1.4 billion in 2023. Insider sources further disclosed that AI21 Labs engaged in discussions with Nvidia regarding a possible acquisition last year, though the deal ultimately did not come to fruition.
