Julia Zhenglei Liuson, a prominent executive at Microsoft, is departing from the company after a remarkable 34-year tenure, underscoring the ongoing high-level personnel shifts at Microsoft. Over the years, Liuson has held the position of head of Microsoft's Developer Division (DevDiv) and has been at the helm of Microsoft's developer business for the last 12 years. Her leadership has been instrumental in steering Microsoft towards open-source practices and championing significant projects, including Microsoft's landmark $7.5 billion acquisition of GitHub. As per an internal memo, Liuson will remain in her role as the head of the Developer Division until the end of June this year. Subsequently, she will transition into an advisory capacity, reporting to Jay Parikh, who leads Microsoft's Core AI division. At present, it remains uncertain whether Microsoft will appoint a successor to head the Developer Division.
