The FreeBSD Laptop Project has unveiled its roadmap for 2026, aiming to enhance the experience in key areas such as graphics and power management. The project, which commenced in the fourth quarter of 2024, has invested over $750,000 by 2025 and achieved significant progress, including support for Wi-Fi 4/5 and upgrades to graphics card drivers. In 2026, the plan includes completing support for sleep states, adding support for Linux 6.18 graphics drivers, achieving Wi-Fi 6 support, and initiating a large-scale testing program.
