Microsoft has announced the completion of Bing Maps' largest address data upgrade in recent years, a nine-month endeavor that has now globally deployed and officially activated TomTom Orbis Maps address data. Launched in June 2025, this upgrade adheres to Overture Maps Foundation standards, integrating open-source maps, sensor data, and TomTom's exclusive commercial datasets to eliminate data silos. Post-upgrade, Bing Maps has significantly expanded coverage, enhanced positioning accuracy, and improved data freshness, employing a phased deployment strategy that began with validation in core European markets before global rollout. Users can experience the new map through Bing Maps web version, Bing Search, and AI assistant Copilot, while enterprise service Azure Maps now delivers more precise API results.
