Intel is set to take a significant step in the data center sector, not with a GPU or accelerator card, but with a server CPU that integrates nearly 300 energy-efficient cores. This week, Intel unveiled the Xeon 6+ processor family, codenamed Clearwater Forest, featuring the new Intel 18A manufacturing process—Intel's most advanced manufacturing technology to date and among the first to reach the 1.8-nanometer level. The new platform marks Intel's strategic shift in cloud computing and carrier-grade workloads, moving away from pursuing extreme clock speeds to prioritizing enhanced energy efficiency and system-level integration capabilities.
