Amazon plans to initiate a new round of layoffs as early as next week, affecting thousands of employees, in a further effort to streamline its organization. This round of layoffs follows the reduction of 14,000 positions several months ago, when Amazon had already hinted at the possibility of continued layoffs in 2026 to reduce management layers.
