The four leading cloud service providers in North America—Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon AWS—are intensifying their investments in AI infrastructure, with projections indicating that total investments could soar to an unprecedented US$600 billion by 2025. This surge is set to benefit Taiwanese companies such as Hon Hai, Quanta, Wistron, Wiwynn, and Inventec, all of which have ventured into the realm of AI server contract manufacturing.
In a bid to capitalize on burgeoning business opportunities, several of these manufacturers have recently upped their investments and expanded production capacities in locations like the United States. Hon Hai, for instance, plans to initially inject between US$1 billion and US$5 billion to bolster its presence in the U.S., with ambitions to assemble 2,000 server racks weekly by 2026. Meanwhile, Quanta has announced a US$170 million capital infusion for its U.S. subsidiary to further expand its AI server investments. Wistron, not far behind, has granted its U.S. subsidiary a credit line of up to US$62.5 million for factory enhancements and is gearing up to construct an AI supercomputing center in Texas, slated to commence operations in the first half of 2026. Lastly, Inventec is poised to invest up to US$85 million to establish a server manufacturing base in Texas, USA.
