The General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has rolled out a set of guidelines with the objective of expediting the innovative progress of China's new-generation internet exchange hubs. These guidelines advocate for the widespread adoption of avant-garde technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), 400G/800G optical transmission, lossless Ethernet, privacy-preserving computation, and quantum communications, within exchange hubs. The aim is to boost network exchange efficacy and elevate the intelligence level of operational processes. Concurrently, the guidelines underscore the importance of fully embracing IPv6 capabilities and hastening the implementation of 'IPv6+' technologies in scenarios involving cross-network interactions. Furthermore, they promote collaborative efforts among industry entities, academic institutions, and research organizations to co-develop and trial essential shared technologies tailored for exchange hubs, thereby fostering standardization, bolstering self-reliance, and facilitating the translation of scientific and technological breakthroughs into standardized norms.
