As reported by the WeChat official account of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the National Industrial and Information Technology Work Conference took place in Beijing from December 25 to 26. The conference underscored the importance of fostering high-quality development within the information and communications sector. It outlined plans to initiate a dedicated campaign for "broadband enhancements," undertake a fresh round of pilot projects for 10-gigabit optical networks, and expedite the "intelligent interconnection of everything" in mobile IoT. Additionally, it stressed the necessity of bolstering the construction of the computing power network system and comprehensively implementing the metropolitan "millisecond-level computing" initiative. Furthermore, the conference unveiled the launch of the 2026 Telecommunications Services "Transparent Handling, Guaranteed Usage" campaign, with a focus on improving the identification and safeguarding of critical and core data, as well as facilitating the establishment of mechanisms for cross-border data flows in key industries such as automotive. The conference also proposed the issuance of an updated version of the "Regulations on Radio Frequency Allocation" and the introduction of guidelines for frequency development and utilization in areas like the low-altitude economy.
