Microsoft is currently in the process of testing a revamped 'Run' (Win + R) dialog box specifically tailored for Windows 11. This marks the first major update to this particular feature since it made its initial appearance alongside Windows 95 back in 1995. The newly designed interface embraces the Fluent Design language, ensuring it harmonizes seamlessly with the overall aesthetic of Windows 11. Internally, this updated version is dubbed 'Modern Run'.

Several key enhancements have been incorporated into this new design. It now offers support for Dark Mode, providing users with a more visually comfortable experience in low-light environments. The input box has been enlarged, making it easier to type in commands. Additionally, a history command list has been added, allowing users to quickly access previously entered commands. When searching for executable programs, corresponding application icons are displayed, enhancing the visual clarity and ease of identification. Furthermore, the 'Browse' button, which was present in the classic version, has been removed to streamline the interface.

Users who are eager to try out this new 'Run' dialog box can do so through the Windows Server Build 26534 preview version. To enable it manually, simply navigate to 'Settings' > 'System' > 'Advanced' and toggle on the 'Run dialog box' option.
